Currently planned to be released for mass growing and cultivation next year the Cosmic Crisp apple is going to be one for the history books. Being a cross between a Honey Crisp (my personal favorite) and an Empire apple, this new variety is designed with America's tastes in mind and was bred by the Washington State's tree fruit breeding program. It is said to be crispy and juicy, while also being much larger relative to a Honey Crisp. I can't wait to try a Cosmic Crisp and give Honey Crisps a run for their money.
