I tried 2 new apples over the course of Thanksgiving break(one in the form of a pie). I tried the McIntosh Apple in a pie, and the tartness blended perfectly with the sugar and spice flavors. If you like a tart apple in your pies or just for an afternoon snack a McIntosh is an excellent choice. Be careful though when baking with them, the pieces shrink substantially when being baked. Also I find humor that there is a Apple MacIntosh computer and a McIntosh breed of apple.
